Background:

After graduating, I spent four years in London working in a number of roles, firstly for a small Higher Education College providing training in arts psychotherapy and then for a charity which supported other voluntary sector organisations to access European funding. I joined the Graduation Office at the University of Reading in October 2005, where I managed the University's graduation ceremonies until taking up my current post in the Quality Support Office in 2008.

In my current role, I have been secretary to the Sub-Committee on Delivery and Enhancement of Learning and Teaching since 2011 and have acted as secretary to a number of teaching and learning-related working groups, including the Thematic Review of Work-Related and Placement Learning, the Working Party on Enhancement and the Working Group on Quality Assurance and Enhancement for Open Online Courses (OOCs). Working alongside colleagues at all levels across the University, I have played a key role in the development of a range of new and existing policies and procedures, including: the policy on student academic engagement and fitness to study; the policy on penalties for late submission and, most recently, revisions to a range of assessment policies and procedures to accommodate a new category of 'in-class tests'.
