T&L Mailing List

In a bid to streamline the way teaching and learning announcements such as relevant events or funding calls are circulated CQSD have created a new mailing list where these types of emails can be sent. This is intended to reduce the amount of cross posting email traffic, prevent communities of practice mailing lists being used as a more general method of broadcasting announcements, and also allow all University staff with an interest in T&L to receive these notifications.

If you would like to be included on the mailing list you can click on the link and enter your name and email details:

If you have information or an announcement you would like to circulate to the list you can send this to cqsd-t&

T&L Blog - Engage in Teaching and Learning

CQSD co-ordinates the University's Engage in Teaching and Learning blog and through regular contributions from staff the blog has become a dynamic and speedy mechanism by which to disseminate T&L-related information across the University.

The key aims of the blog is to;

  • Rapidly disseminate T&L news, including relevant updates from T&L committees and policy updates to a wide audience
  • Provide colleagues throughout the University with the opportunity to highlight good practice, to provide one another with support (e.g. in the form of 'top tips' etc.) and to reflect on T&L initiatives.

Submissions to the blog can be on any Teaching and Learning related topic and all documents for publishing should be sent along with the text of your article. There is no submission deadline but in order to keep the blog up-to-date we hope that colleagues will regularly submit entries so that it becomes a resource that reflects the interests and thoughts of the University's T&L community.

We have included some brief guidelines below to help you with the structure of articles if you are not already familiar with blogging.

If you have any queries in relation to the Engage in Teaching and Learning blog or would like to submit an article please email engageint&

We look forward to receiving your submissions in the near future.

Key structure of articles

When submitting your blog post please consider and include the following;

  1. A heading for your article.
  2. Spell out acronyms and keep in mind that the blog is seen by readers both internal and external to the University
  3. Consider using sub-headings if your article is longer than a couple of paragraphs
  4. Any URL links you wish to be included in the text (either as embedded links or highlighted words).
  5. Authored by (if this should be attributed to someone other than the person submitting the article).

You can also include;

  • Media - add any attachments such as pictures, videos or podcasts to the submission email which you wish to be included in the post (these must be less than 2MB each); please provide descriptions of those people featured.
  • Suggested keywords (tags) to be added to the article. These can help users of the blog search for specific terms which may flag your article to them.

T&L Reading Newsletter

CQSD edit the University's T&L Reading newsletter, a termly newsletter is intended to complement the Engage in T&L blog by bringing you key articles, T&L headlines and policy news from across campus. The newsletter is also interactive so please visit the clickable links for more information as you read through.

Please note that due to the limited space for articles in the newsletter, submissions will usually be via invitation with the intention that the majority of T&L news articles will be pubished to the Engage in Teaching and Learning blog.

Policy Plus

CQSD produce the University's Policy Plus at the beginning of each Autumn Term, summarising the key changes to teaching and learning policy which were agreed during the previous academic year and take effect during the new academic year.

Previous issues are available on request from Jennie Chetcuti ( / Ext 5050)
