Selection of University of Reading Nominees

The University selects its nominees for the NTFS in the following way:

  1. The call is made for self nominations to be submitted to the Centre for Quality Support and Development (CQSD) using the expression of interest form.
  2. NTFS Selection Panel selects up to 3 nominees from the nominations to go forward into the NTFS. Nominees will be supported in drafting their submission by staff within CQSD.
  3. The NTFS Selection Panel reserves the right to consider potential candidates not otherwise nominated through the expression of interest route.

Please note that:

  • From 2014-15 the normal expectation will be that the University nominees for the NTFS will be recognised at D3, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Guidance for Staff on the HESA Codes for Teaching Qualifications
  • The NTFS selection process takes place alongside the University Teaching Fellowship Scheme.
  • It is an expectation of the Scheme that successful National Teaching Fellows will work with CQSD to provide some mentoring support for future applicants and will also play an active role in support of the University's FLAIR (Facilitating Learning and Teaching Achievement and Individual Recognition) CPD Framework. For example providing mentoring support for applicants to FLAIR, membership of FLAIR professional recognition panels etc.
  • Applicants are expected to have discussed their application with their Head of School/Service and relevant Teaching and Learning Dean prior to submitting their application to the Panel.
  • Draft applications not submitted will be deleted after the submission deadline
