Catching a bus through campus

The 19 bus serviceThe University of Reading and Reading Buses have often worked in partnership to increase the bus services offered to staff, students and visitors.  Buses have been diverted through Whiteknights campus since Autumn 2007 on route 20, and later route 21.

Now travelling through the campus on a regular basis, this allows students, community and staff an environmentally friendly way to travel directly to the University from the train station.

This safe and convenient service offers a bus every 10 minutes running all through the day, 7 days a week into the evening and offers a cost effective alternative to using the car.

The success of this scheme has meant that another route was added in 2010, to cater for our commuters from Woodley and Bulmershe campus.  The 19 began its journeys last January, passing through Whiteknights campus and continuing on to Reading town centre every hour.

Reading Buses also provide staff and students with a special discount rate on their journeys, so there's even more reason to leave the car at home!
