Utility Sources

Utility sources on campus are naturally wide ranging. We source all electricity from a 'green' tariff which is generated off site from a mixture of renewable sources.

On site, there is a small scale photovoltaic and wind generator. Future plans include expansion of generation of electricity to include a number of large wind turbines. Our water is sourced from a mixture of mains supply and a borehole on the Whiteknights campus. There are also extraction points at CEDAR and from the Thames at the Greenland's campus. By reducing our reliance on the mains supply, we can reduce our carbon footprint.

Other fossil fuel usage sources of energy include mains gas and gas oil.
