Ma in Classics and Ancient History

This is a multidisciplinary degree focusing on the literature, culture and history of the ancient Mediterranean world. You can choose from literary, historical, artistic, linguistic and archaeological options, drawing on the Department's wide-ranging expertise on Greece and Rome, Egypt, and the ancient Near East, from the Bronze Age to the twenty-first century.

"I chose to continue my postgraduate studies at Reading due to the flexibility of the course and because the tutors here have a very wide range of research topics: from Egyptology, to Ancient Near Eastern Studies, to Early Christian Studies."
