Welcome to the web-site of CIRCL and the MA in Children's Literature. The world-famous MA, run by CIRCL, is the oldest accredited degree in the field in Britain, and is taught by specialists in Children's Literature, whose research is published internationally. CIRCL also runs the largest PhD programme in the highly research-rated English Department of the University of Reading, and every year MA and PhD students from all over the world join together in CIRCL's inspirational and cutting-edge research environment to produce globally-leading, unique and original research in this fascinating and burgeoning field.

IT MAY BE HELPFUL TO STATE IN THE CURRENT CLIMATE OF UNCERTAINTY AROUND UK UNIVERSITY FUNDING, THAT THE UNIVERSITY OF READING OFFICIALLY STATES ON ITS WEBSITE THE FOLLOWING CONCERNING POST-GRADUATE DEGREE FEES:

Will an increase in undergraduate fees also lead to an increase in postgraduate fees?

No. We have no reason to believe that this will happen.

Does an increase in fees for home students mean that international students will be paying the same rate or see their fees rise?

No. The fees increase proposals announced by the British Government are for UK and EU students only. It does not affect students from outside the EU.
