Cognitive Systems Science
Cognitive Systems Science (CSS) is an inter-disciplinary venture supported by an EPSRC Bridging the Gaps award. The principals in the group are Prof. Douglas Saddy, Dr. Peter beim Graben, Prof. Pete Grindrod, Dr. Roland Potthast and Dr. Slawomir Nasuto. Between them, these five researchers embrace Psychology, Clinical Language Science, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering and Cybernetics.
This group is an integral part of the Centre, and comprises an active research hub looking at issues in cognitive modelling and systems analysis and promoting inter-disciplinary projects. With the support of the Bridging the Gaps grant, they have been able to bring in a host of visitors to stimulate research in the area, and form the core of an effort to push the boundaries of multi-disciplinary cooperation in the neurosciences.
The CSS group hosts a seminar series, runs summer schools, and brings in scholars from around the world for extended visits. They are producing a steadily growing inventory of research papers in Cognitive Systems Analysis and Neurodynamics as well as creating analytic tools and computational resources.
If you would like to be on the mailing list of the CSS group, and receive notice of talks and other events we host, please contact the Project Manager, Dr. Sloan.
