Diploma Course
The course involves attending a series of 20 days of training workshops led by the national and international leaders in the field. In addition, Diploma students will receive weekly supervision of ongoing therapeutic cases by experts in the treatment of specific disorders such as eating disorders, anxiety and depression on Thursday afternoons during term-time. All the supervision is provided by therapists accredited by the BABCP. Selection is based on application form and interview. Successful candidates are likely to have had a minimum of one year post-qualification clinical experience. The CWI Diploma runs alongside the Government’s IAPT Diploma course, and where applicable the training will be combined across both student cohorts.

Entry Requirements
Entrants to the certificate and diploma programme are normally required to have both:

  • an Honours degree in a discipline connected to mental health

    AND

  • a postgraduate qualification in mental health

Applicants without these qualifications but who have extensive clinical experience in mental health will be considered on an individual basis.

Accreditation
The Diploma in Evidence-based Psychological Treatment has been awarded Level I accreditation by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. This means that the course meets the BABCP’s quality of training criteria. However, passing the Diploma does not automatically entitle a student to BABCP accreditation. In order to be accredited, a student must have completed the Minimum Training Standards which are available from the BABCP website:-
