Welcome!
Who are the Chaplains at Reading?
There are six chaplains, three part-time voluntary chaplaincy assistants and an associate at the Chaplaincy.
What are Chaplains?
Chaplains are a friendly group of men and women drawn from local churches who offer support to students and staff, whatever their religious beliefs.
Two views:
"I discovered the chaplaincy almost by accident as I was passing on my way to the library, and heard lots of laughter from inside. I ventured in to see what all the noise was, and discovered a great group of people, many of whom are still some of my closest friends today".
(Beth, Student '06-'11)
"The chaplaincy is a warm, friendly environment - an oasis of calm in the centre of campus. There are many opportunities to meet with people from a wide variety of backgrounds or to find a quiet place to meditate and chill out".
(Lee, University Staff)
