Spirituality at the Chaplaincy
Basic Spirituality
Learn how to calm your mind, still your body and find some inner peace by coming along to one of our basic relaxation sessions. For both staff and students. Email for details.
Regular Prayer
Everyday during the week there is some form of prayer, Communion or Bible study. Find out more about our Weekly Events.
Retreats and Quiet Days
We run termly retreats for undergrads, postgrads and staff, usually at a nearby monastery. We also hold non-religious quiet days for those who just wish to take a break. For details of our next retreat, see our
retreat poster
Labyrinth
Look out for our walking meditation. Roughly once a term we bring on to campus a quarter-scale replica of Chartres Cathedral's medieval labyrinth. Walking the labyrinth can be a deeply relaxing and meditative experience.
Taizé
We hold a monthly prayer service using Taizé chants and readings on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The service is quiet and meditative with singing, short readings and silence, and is usually followed by hot chocolate! Email for details, or visit the Taizé website.
