Working in the UK

If you are planning to work in the UK after graduation and are not from an EEA (European Economic Area) country you will need to check whether you are eligible to work. The University of Reading has a dedicated Immigration Advice Service offering visa advice walk-in sessions to discuss your query with an immigration advisor based on the ground floor of the Carrington building.

Working back home

Most international students return to their home country after their studies here. We do have some information on job hunting techniques that may be applicable to your circumstances. Careers Advisers can certainly advise you on aspects of your career planning such as helping with you with your interview skills and writing of applications.

Promoting the University of Reading

Some employers in your home country may not be familiar with the University of Reading and so you may wish to provide them with some positive facts, figures and background information to add value to your job applications. To help you with this, we've put together a handy document which you can use to copy information into CVs and covering letters - Download document »
