CAF access

Access to CAF laboratories, located in the Chemistry and Pharmacy Building (NMR, Thermal Analysis, Optical Spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and some Mass Spectrometry instruments) and JJT (Microscopy and Mass Spectrometry), is restricted. Everyone, who wishes to work in the CAF laboratory must read the On-Line Health and Safety presentation and return the completed CAF registration form before access.

The most recent version of the presentation is available on Blackboard. Please email Professor Gunter Kuhnle or Dr Graham Luke for enrolment. You will receive a message with instructions on how to access and download the presentation on your computer. Please read this presentation carefully because at the end, there is a simple quiz which will test your understanding of the local health and safety rules. After you have finished and passed the test, please contact us and confirm that you agree to follow these rules. The non-disclosure agreement is also an important part of these rules which you have to accept, if you would like to access CAF. Please include in the email the number of your University ID card (right bottom corner) and the date at which your stay at Reading will finish.

You will also need to complete, sign and - if you are a student - obtain your supervisor's signature on the form. After all information is provided you should return the CAF registration form, as instructed in the presentation, so that CAF access can be activated on your University ID card.
