Systems Biology

The module provides an introduction to the field of systems biology and explains how modelling can be used to provide an insight into biological systems. The module will start with an overview of systems biology, its usefulness in modelling biological systems and the modelling process. The lectures will be supported by specific examples of how modelling has been applied to real-life biological problems, including population models, biochemical reactions and cell signalling pathways.
