Hands on workshops and mentoring
for younger students

Yearly ongoing activities...

  • A group of us initiated a year long focus on cardiovascular health as part of the UOR Reading Scholars Programme in Dec 2016 with a laboratory that explored the genetics behind poor cardiovascular health. We continued this in March with a practical session on lung physiology and workshops in June on platelet signaling and diseases of the cardiovascular system. In June, Dr Lizzy Lander also gave a talk on the degrees offered in SBS to students in the programme. Outreach & Impact

Primary school children identified plants, estimated numbers of plants and came up with their favourite plant. A follow-up event held by Dr. Mitchley at the school was wildly popular!
