Areas of Interest:

Evolution under environmental stress and the interaction between toxic environments, changes in the genome and phenotypic effects. Specific projects include: development of a Daphnia magna stress DNA microarray, mechanisms of gene amplification under toxic stress, insecticide resistance in pest insects, the role of membrane proteins in pesticide toxicity, short-term effects of exposure to organic and inorganic pollution in freshwater invertebrates and the development of biochemical and molecular biomarkers to detect exposure and effect.
