BSc Microbiology
Life under the microscope - microbiology is the study of organisms too small to be seen by eye. In this degree, you will learn about the huge impact these small organisms have on our health, food and environment.
What will you learn in Microbiology?
Microbes include bacteria, archaea, viruses, fungi and protozoa. They have adapted to live in every environment on Earth, from deep-sea hydrothermal vents, to hot acid springs and frozen glaciers. Many microbes establish relationships with other living organisms, to the cost or benefit of their host. This degree addresses questions about how microbes function and how we can use this knowledge to the benefit of human health and the planet.
