Microbiologists are in demand throughout the academic, industrial and public health sectors. You can also become a member of the Society of Biology and apply for Chartered Biologist status following graduation.

Working across diverse sectors

biomedical image3There is enormous vocational opportunity for microbiologists across numerous fields including biomedicine, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries. All of these employers need experts with advanced laboratory knowledge. Our graduates have gone on to work for companies such as the Medical Research Council, Royal Berkshire Hospital, South East Water, ThermoFisher and Nexus Support. Government and government-funded agencies are also in need of the skills you can bring.
