Coralie Bickford-Smith is an award-winning author, illustrator and designer.

She is a graduate from the University of Reading and believes studying here helped her to fulfil her dreams.

Coralie graduated from the University of Reading with a degree in BSc Typography and Graphic Communication. She went on to write, illustrate and design her own book, The Fox and the Star, which won awards from The Academy of British Book Design and the V&A Illustration Awards. It was also named the Waterstones Book of the Year.

After graduating, Coralie joined Penguin Random House and has been behind some of the publisher’s best-loved designs to emerge in recent years, including her work on the clothbound classics series.

Her work has been featured in international magazines and newspapers including The New York Times, Vogue and The Guardian.

Her cover designs for Penguin Classics attracted global attention, and she has been asked to exhibit and speak about her work around the world.
