University of Reading Athena SWAN timeline:

December 2007 : signed up to the Athena SWAN principles
May 2008:submitted its application for the Bronze award
September 2008: award of Bronze Award received.

Plans:

May 2009: Individual Schools to submit applications for Silver award
To launch a forum to passing on useful information and enabling networking and support amongst employees

Activities and Events:

We work closely with the UKRC for Women in SET to develop programmes to help to and advance women working in Science and Engineering including

• personal development programmes,
• career development programmes,
• mentoring,
• promotion case advice
