Student profiles
The following quote is from a postgraduate student in Fine Art:
Rebecca Waterworth
MFA, graduated 2006.
'The MFA at the University of Reading enabled me to concentrate fully on my practice. It gave me the opportunity to both question and develop my existing practice within a forum of supportive criticism.
A respectful relationship existed between staff and students, all staff being active in their research and students benefiting fully from that.
An innovative programme, offering teaching opportunities to postgraduates to work with undergraduates created an atmosphere of mutual learning.
The MFA programme reflected the reality of contemporary practice in the outside world; allowing 24-hour access to studios, using peer group criticism in seminars and adapting the written element as a tool, to enable a personal agenda to develop around context and practice throughout the two years.
