Architecture & Built Environment ranked 5th in the UK
The University of Reading has been ranked 5th in the UK for Architecture & Built Environment, in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017.
This is fantastic recognition for the University of Reading and especially for the School of Architecture which is in its very first year. This ranking demonstrates the quality of our courses, staff and students across the School of the Built Environment.
The rankings are based upon academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact. Each of the subject rankings is compiled using four sources: the first two of these are QS's global surveys of academics and employers, which are used to assess institutions' international reputation in each subject; the second two indicators assess research impact, based on research citations per paper and h-index in the relevant subject. These are sourced from Elsevier's Scopus database, the world's most comprehensive research citations database.
The rankings aim to help prospective students identify the world's leading schools in their chosen field. This year the rankings were expanded from a top 100 to a top 200 allowing many universities to make their first appearance on the Architecture/Built Environment subject rankings - the University of Reading was ranked 36th out of the 200 universities worldwide.
