Archaeology research seminarTeaching includes lectures, seminars and workshops, developing skills in conducting independent research, critical analytical thought, and continuing professional development. There is the opportunity to gain technical skills in key archaeological methods and techniques in a technical option module of your choice.

All students take a research skills module which includes a series of lectures and practicals on writing essays, dissertations, research proposals and publications, ITC resources, and quantitative applications in archaeology.

The annual Masters' conference develops your oral presentation skills. MSc students have a guided eight-day residential field course. There are also opportunities to be involved with staff fieldwork projects including the Silchester excavations.
