How we teach you
The School of Agriculture, Policy and Development prides itself in excellence in teaching and learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
A three year undergraduate degree can be undertaken in consecutive years, although it is increasing popular for students to undertake an industrial year between years 2 and 3. The School has a placement officer to support this process.
All undergraduate degrees contain elements of project work and industry liaison and all students follow a career management module. Several degrees have fieldwork components. A diverse range of teaching and assessment methods are used across programmes which are delivered in state of the art teaching facilities by committed staff. We give students some flexibility in putting together their own programmes to suit their needs, which includes foreign language options.
The School is part of a national
Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Applied Undergraduate Research Skills (CETL-AURS) which provides a range of research opportunities to undergraduate students, for instance providing students with paid research opportunities during their studies through the
Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP). CETL-AURS also provides state of the art teaching facilities such as the highly interactive Innovation Lab used extensively for small group work.
