Undergraduate prizes and awards
The following prizes and awards apply to Part 3 Finalists; recipients are decided by the Internal and External Examiners at the Final Programme Examiners' Meeting in June each year. Please see the winners of our undergraduate prizes 2011.
Royal Agricultural Society of England - RASE Student Award
Awarded to the finalist student from either BSc Agriculture or BSc Agricultural Business Management that achieves the best overall degree performance or a very high overall performance, who will be continuing to work within the agricultural sector. The award is five years free membership of RASE.
Ellen Klahn Jenkins Memorial Prize in Nutrition
Awarded to the finalist student from BSc Animal Science that achieves the best overall degree performance. The prize consists of a cheque for £125.
The Helen Ekins Memorial Prize
Awarded to a finalist woman student following an honours course in Agriculture with the best academic record. The prize consists of a book token for £50.
The Mary Hissey Prize
Awarded to a finalist on an Agriculture or Horticulture programme on the results of the Final Examination in Part 3. The prize consists of a book token for £20.
L. G. Bennett PrizeAwarded to the finalist student from either BSc Food Marketing and Business Economics or BSc Consumer Behaviour and Marketing that achieves the best overall performance in their Individual Project. This prize consists of a cheque to the value of £100. Dr L G Bennett was an academic member of staff in AFE; this prize was initiated by his family in his memory over thirty years ago.
Chartered Institute of Marketing Prize
Awarded to the finalist student from either BSc Food Marketing and Business Economics or BSc Consumer Behaviour and Marketing that achieves the best overall degree performance. The prize consists of a cheque to the value of £100 provided by the Food and Drink and Agricultural Special Interest Group of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. The FDA is charged under its affiliation to the CIM to interact, to mutual benefit, with the academic world.
