Course length: 3 years full time (CN85) or 4 years including an industrial placement (NC58)
Consumer Behaviour and Marketing is the first degree of its kind to be offered in the UK for undergraduate students. This course began in 2006 and provides you with a unique, multidisciplinary degree which combines applied psychology with marketing, management, applied economics and research methods.
A key to the profitability of any business today is consumer satisfaction and developing an understanding into the psychology of consumers (their motivations, behaviours, thoughts, feelings, reasoning, information processing and decision making), and how the consumer influences, and is influenced by, their socio-economic environment. This degree will provide you with invaluable skills and knowledge for marketing products and services across a broad range of industries.
Course overview
We have a Consumer Behaviour and Marketing brochure (PDF - 644KB) available for you to download, which provides further details of the course structure and modules.
In your first two years you will be provided with a firm grounding in the theory behind many of the key issues behind consumer behaviour such as psychology, marketing, economics and research methods. In your final year you will be given more opportunity to specialise further in an area that best suits your needs and interests - helping to tailor this degree to your requirements.
