Career opportunities

Our Animal Science graduates find employment in many different fields. On a specialist level, some have taken up posts in research, advisory and managerial services of commercial firms concerned with animal nutrition and health, and with commercial firms in allied areas such as the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food industries. Generalist fields of employment have included accountancy, management training and IT. In addition, many Reading graduates go on to higher degree study, whilst some have gained places to study Veterinary Medicine/Science. As a result of our well-resourced teaching and learning environments, students take away not only theoretical expertise but also an enviable mixture of transferable skills making Reading graduates highly sought after by employers.
