Life at APD

Students working in the Agriculture labsThe vibrant and dynamic community of PhD students within the School of Agriculture, Policy & Development come from all over the world and are taught by internationally experienced staff.

There are many opportunities to interact and learn with and from other students both through academic study and social events. Research skills training seminars are held within the School and students also have the opportunity to participate in the Graduate Skills Development Programme run by the Faculty of Science and Life Sciences and through the Graduate School in the Social Sciences.

Postgraduate students at ReadingRegular research seminars and annual PhD conferences are organised, involving research students, staff and other subject professionals. You will also have the opportunity to present and receive feedback on your research as you progress with your study.

Students often work away from the University to enhance their research. You may also have the option to register as a full- or part-time student depending on your circumstances.

Friendly, experienced and patient staff are keen to advise and assist throughout a student's time at Reading, with PhD students being considered to be important and integral members of the School.
