2016 Scholarship students

The Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE) announced today that it has £52,900 worth of Scholarship funding available for 2017-18 academic year.

Working in collaboration with a variety of scholarship programmes, the funding is designed to assist incoming international students wishing to pursue their postgraduate studies within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development at the University of Reading.

Dr Sarah Cardey, Director of GIIDAE, said: "This year's scholarship funding has been boosted by an injection of £12,000 from the GIIDAE International Scholarship fund, comprised of four merit-based awards of £3,000 each towards living expenses and tuition fees.

"The scholarship is open to students from Indonesia, Latin America, South America and the United States who wish study on one of our programmes. For 2017/18, two of the four scholarships will be awarded to students wishing to study Environment and Development, while the other two will come from the remaining GIIDAE programmes. We recognise the difference that a scholarship can make, and are keen to assist students wherever possible."

Sarah continued: "This will enable students to pursue a variety of careers that address a range global challenges such as: food security, nutrition and health; sustainability of agro-ecosystems; climate and environmental change; poverty alleviation, social development, and social equality; agricultural development; and consumer behaviour and choice."

The GIIDAE International Scholarship is now available - Application deadline: 11th April 2017.

Terms and conditions apply. For further information regarding GIIDAE's programmes visit: http://www.reading.ac.uk/apd/pg-taught/apd-pgt-GIIDAE.aspx
