About the Graduate Institute of International Development and Applied Economics (GIIDAE)
GIIDAE provides
postgraduate courses which explore key social, economic, environmental and political issues from an applied interdisciplinary perspective. Our eleven courses, ranging from Environment and Development to Food Economics and Marketing, attract high calibre students from over 35 countries to the Institute each year. This broad international mix, which includes both young graduates and experienced mid-career professionals, helps create a unique learning environment for all students.

International Student Barometer: Reading ranked Number 1 for student learning
The International Student Barometer (ISB) is the largest survey of the international student experience in the world: more than 250,000 international students are surveyed. In academic year 2007-8, international students at Reading placed their learning experience 1st in the ISB putting Reading ahead in terms of the student learning experience of Oxford, Cambridge, Yale and many other institutions worldwide.
