11 bobbins for making lace. One is inscribed ‘Joel’, another is decorated with pewter rings, and another is decorated with wire.
The origin of these eleven bobbins for making lace is not known. Eight are made of bone (one is inscribed ‘Joel’, another is decorated with pewter rings, and another is decorated with wire) and three are made of wood. With the exception of two of the wooden bobbins, all have spangles – glass beads or ornaments attached to the bottom of the bobbin to provide additional weight.
