Description
A halter weight used for keeping the loose end of a horse?s halter lead taut when tied in the stable.
This is a round halter weight made of wood with a hole through the middle and flattened ends. It was used for keeping the loose end of a horse?s halter lead taut when tied in the stable. The end of the lead is passed through a ring in the manger and the weight is tied to the bottom. Nothing is known of its origin.
