This is one of 64 printing blocks used to print the illustrations in ‘The English Farm Wagon: Origins and Structure’ by John Geraint Jenkins, as published in 1961. Jenkins was the Assistant Keeper at MERL 1953-1960, and these blocks were found in the Museum in 2010. This block - Figure 51 on page 200 - shows a photograph of a North Somerset and Vale of Berkeley wagon from Dymock. This is a panel-sided bow wagon with broad, dished wheels and very tall front and back ladders. They were used in parts of Somerset and Gloucestershire.
