Description
Printing block used ‘The English Farm Wagon’ by John Geraint Jenkins, 1961. Fig. 24, page 97, showing variations of side supports for wagons.
This is one of 64 printing blocks used to print the illustrations in ‘The English Farm Wagon: Origins and Structure’ by John Geraint Jenkins, as published in 1961. Jenkins was the Assistant Keeper at MERL 1953-1960, and these blocks were found in the Museum in 2010. This block - the second part of Figure 24 on page 97 - shows a labelled drawing of regional variations in the design of side supports for wagons, which may be made of wood or iron.
