  • Description
Pocket candle holder. To hold the candle in the 'neck' of the bottle. Twisting the barrel clockwise reveals matches, anti-clockwise the striker.
This is a small brass pocket candle holder. It is roughly bottle like in shape, and was designed to hold the candle in the 'neck' of the bottle. By twisting the barrel in a clockwise direction a triangular shaped opening is revealed, and inside this matches are kept. By twisting the barrel in an anti-clockwise direction the opening is closed and a rectangular match striker covers it. Part of the small candle, which could be pushed into the socket against a spring, is still in place. A dome like cap, attached to the neck of the holder by a ring, covers the candle over when not in use. The letters 'G. M. // BTE // S. G. D. G.' are stamped on the barrel of the holder.
