    The donor's family took possession of Cockmore Hall in 1895. They subsequently occupied farms at Brompton-by-Sawdon (1912) and Kilham (1922). At Kilham the farm was operated jointly with the landowner's son until 1934, when the partnership came to an end. The family then purchased Partridge Hall, Burnby, co. York from the Landesborough Estate Farm size, etc. Cockmore Hall : 200 acres; farm at Brompton-by-Sawdon : 110 acres; farm at Kilham : 353 acres; Partridge Hall : 600 acres
