Creator History
The donor's family took possession of Padbrook Farm, Lydiard Tregoze, co. Wilts in 1843. Charles Vine (the donor's grandfather) remained there until 1850 when he moved to a larger farm at Vicarage Farm, Studley co. Wilts. In 1892 the family moved to Manor Farm, Bremhill, co. Wilts and at the same time rented Glebe Farm, Bremhill, co. Wilts which was relinquished in the early years of this century. The donor is the youngest of five sons, three of whom acquired local farms. Manor Farm has remained constant in size since 1892, apart from a smallholding of 25 acres rented between 1909 and the end of the first world war.
