    The donor's family has been associated with the village of South Milton for some 400 years and Lower Sutton Farm (originally called Corbyns Place) remained in its possesion from 1696 until 1958, when it was sold by the donor's father, the Rev. Edward Arthur Elliot, to C. Rogers who was then the tenant. Lower Sutton Farm was once part of a larger property held by the family and included Collicot Farm on the western edge of South Milton. Members of the Elliot family have been buried there since 1700 Farm size etc. Owner-occupied and leased at various periods
