    The donor's grandfather farmed at Slimcroft Farm, Blewbury, co. Berks; his father took possession of Manor Farm, East Hagbourne, where the donor was born. His brother occupies a farm in Wales, where the family of the donor's wife (a teacher) also farmed. Her grandparents were of co. Lincoln stock. In the 19th century Manor Farm included 20 acres of hop-fields; the hop-chimney near the farm still exists. Farm size etc. 130 acres; owner-occupier
