A quality experience say University of Reading students

Release Date : 18 August 2010

The University of Reading provides a high quality student experience, according to the results of the National Student Survey 2010, which surveys final year students in higher education across the UK.

Of students responding to the poll, 88% stated that they were satisfied with the quality of the experience at the University of Reading, an increase of 1% on 2009 and 5% higher than the higher education sector average.

Professor Rob Robson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning at the University of Reading, said: "We are extremely pleased that, once again, our students have rated the experience they get here so positively. We provide high quality research-led teaching and an outstanding student experience at Reading, which ensures we are consistently ranked as one of the top university experiences by the people who matter most, our students.

"Of particular note in our results are the strength of our teaching with 86% satisfaction and the levels of support we offer for personal development (81%). However, we are just as interested to find out about the areas in which we can still improve and so will be using the results of this survey to inform and improve the quality of the Reading experience."

Star performing departments include History of Art (with 100% overall satisfaction), English (97%), Law (96%), Food and Nutritional Sciences (96%), Classics (96%) and ICMA (96%) with Chemistry, History and Meteorology also showing high overall satisfaction levels.
