Indian academics discuss climate change and city planning
Release Date : 16 March 2010
Academics in real estate and planning at the University of Reading will get the chance to find out how their counterparts in India cope with climate change this week.
Staff from the Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT) at the University of Ahmedabad will talk about their work and the challenges they face in considering climate change with city planning.
Angelique Chettiparambil Rajan, from the School of Real Estate and Planning at the University, said the visit was an excellent opportunity to discuss collaborative research.
"Currently I am working with a colleague in India looking at the provision of housing for poor people by both the State and non-governmental organisations and if that makes a difference," she said. "International projects bring a new dimension to the School and we will be discussing how we can enhance this side of our work with CEPT."
The seminar takes place on Friday, 19 March at 1pm in Henley Business School. There is an opportunity to book one-to-one meetings with the Indian academic staff between 2 and 4pm. For more information, please email Scarlett Palmer on s.h.palmer@henley.reading.ac.uk
