Undergraduate degrees at MGIMO

We offer three undergraduate courses with MGIMO, including Politics and International Relations, Finance and Investment Banking and International Business and Finance. Students will share their time across MGIMO and the University of Reading, giving them the opportunity to experience a new culture as well as learn a foreign language.

Double Degree in Politics and International Relations

This four-year programme includes the first two years at MGIMO and the last two at the University of Reading, leading to an award from both institutions. Starting with an International Foundation year at MGIMO, recognised by the University of Reading, you will study in the School of Government and International Affairs during your two years.

This double degree programme is unique, combining both UK and Russian teaching and research perspectives, and providing students with access to both the UK and Russian job markets after graduation. 

The MGIMO part of the curriculum includes lectures and seminars in social sciences and humanities, such as history and philosophy, sociology and economics, and political science and international relations. You will also be trained in academic skills and creative writing. 

The core parts of the Moscow curriculum are delivered by native English speakers with advanced degrees in politics and linguistics from leading universities across the globe. 

In your final two years at the University of Reading, you will complete advanced courses in comparative politics, foreign policy analysis and contemporary global issues.

Throughout your degree, you will also be able to study a foreign language.

Entry criteria: please visit the MGIMO website for more information. For progression requirements at the University of Reading, you must achieve an average of 70% in all MGIMO modules and 6.5 IELTS.

Double Degree in Finance and Investment Banking

In this four-year programme, the first two years will be spent at MGIMO and the last two at the University of Reading. Starting with an international foundation year at MGIMO, and recognised by the University of Reading, students will study in the School of International Economic Relations during their first two years.

This double degree programme is unique for combining UK and Russian teaching and research perspectives, as well as providing students with access to both the UK and Russian job markets at the completion of the programme. The MGIMO part of the curriculum includes world economy, finance and credit and commerce.

During the two years at Reading, students will study at the ICMA Centre, which is home to the most extensive non-investment bank dealing facilities in the world. Their unique practice-focused approach includes a number of finance education innovations aiming to provide students with a solid grounding for a career in the industry and a skill set that sets them apart from graduates of other finance programmes. Read more about why to choose the ICMA centre.

Throughout their degree, students will also study a foreign language.

Double Degree in International Business and Finance

This four year programme includes two years at MGIMO and the last two at the University of Reading. The first two years are taught at the School of Financial Economy at the Odintsovo campus situated in beautiful countryside. 

This double degree programme is unique, combining both UK and Russian teaching and research perspectives, and providing students with access to both the UK and Russian job markets after graduation.

The MGIMO part of the curriculum includes financial accounting, world economy, finance and credit.

During the two years at Reading students will study at the triple accredited Henley Business School (HBS). HBS has been at the forefront of teaching and research in international business for over 40 years. Their degrees give students a strong grounding across the main areas of business and explore key themes and emerging challenges. As part of its teaching HBS welcomes guest speakers from a wide range of organisations, from entrepreneurial start-ups to leading multinational firms. 

Throughout their degree, students will study a foreign language.
