Parking

If you are visiting the University please be aware that parking is very limited. The University is well-served by public transport; please consider the alternatives available.

Parking for visitors to the University

If you are coming by car, staff in the department you are visiting may be able to send you a visitor's parking permit. The permit should be displayed in your car.

Always make sure that your parking is prearranged. If you have any queries please email us on reception@reading.ac.uk

Parking for students

If you are a registered student, you are not normally allowed to park on campus unless you:

  • need a car for your course
  • need a car because of a disability

Further information on eligibility for a permit can be found on the student parking information pages.

Information about parking at Halls

If you are a student living in a hall of residence then you may be issued with a parking permit for that hall. Once again, halls parking is limited and there is no guarantee that you will get a parking permit.

Parking off site

If you decide to travel to the University and park off site, please ensure that you park legally and considerately and are aware of any parking restrictions.

  • don't park on junctions
  • don't block driveways or dropped kerbs
  • don't park in areas where there's limited space available for residents

We thank you in advance for your help and consideration. How you park your car can impact people's attitude and perception of the University and staff, students and visitors.
