How to get to our Reading campuses by coach

If you are travelling to Reading by National Express Coach you will be dropped off at Calcot (next to a large Sainsbury's supermarket).  In order to get to the University campus you must first take a bus to the train station and then take a second bus to the University.

Travelling from Calcot to Reading station

The buses that run from Calcot to the train station are numbers 25, 44, 101, 102 or 103.  The bus fare costs £1.70 each way and you will need the exact money as the buses do not give change.

Travelling from Reading station to the University

Once you arrive at the train station you will need to get a taxi or bus to the University campus. The bus stand and taxi rank can be found outside the station. A taxi will cost you approximately £6 and a bus journey will cost you £1.70 (you will need the exact money as the buses do not give change).

The buses that run from the train station to the University are as follows:

  • To Whiteknights campus (Shinfield Road): numbers 9, 19, 20 or 21* (Stand SK)
  • To Whiteknights campus (Earley Gate): numbers 17 (Stand FN) or 22 (Stand SJ)
  • To Bulmershe Court campus: numbers 12 or 14 (Stand FW), or 19 (Stand SK)
  • To London Road campus: numbers 9, 20, 21 (Stand SK)

*Please note: 

  • The number 9 stops at the Shinfield Road entrance and that numbers 19, 20 and 21 stop on campus.
  • The number 19 bus links Whiteknights campus with Bulmershe Court campus.
