The Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology

Spring Vacation 2013 opening hours:

The Ure Museum will remain closed from Thursday 28 March 2012 to Tuesday 2 April 2013.

Throughout the University's Spring Vacation, from Monday 25 March to Friday 19 April 2013, the Museum will be opened only 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9.00 am to 4:30 pm.

The Museum will resume the normal Term Opening Hours on Monday 22 April 2013.

 

Term Opening Hours:

During term time the Ure Museum is normally open weekdays 9.00 am to 4:30 pm. Admission to the museum is free. As the museum is also used for educational activities visitors may find themselves sharing the space with a class. See our Events page for forthcoming special events.

 

 

Christmas Vacation 2012-13 opening hours:

During the Christmas Vacation the Ure Museum will remain closed from Monday 17 December 2012 to Tuesday 1 January 2013.

From Wednesday 2 January to Friday 11 January 2013 the Museum will be opened only 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9.00 am to 4:30 pm.

The Museum will resume the normal Term Opening Hours on Monday 14 January 2013.

 

Getting to the Museum

The Museum is based in the centre of the University of Reading, Whiteknights campus, on the ground floor of the Humanities and Social Sciences (HumSS) building, in the Department of Classics, room 38. HumSS is shown on the map below.

Enter the University Campus off the A327 Shinfield Road, onto Queens's Drive (the turning with the University Sports Centre on the corner). See our exact location on on Google™ maps.

Reading Buses routes 9, 20 and 21 and Thames Travel route 144 provide regular bus service from Reading station.
