The Ure Museum will be closed from Friday 16th December
2016 until Tuesday 3rd January 2017
Out of Term time:
University vacation times, the Museum will be normally open only on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays and
9.00 am-4.30 pm and for our special events.

Term Opening Hours:
During term time the Ure Museum is normally open weekdays 9.00 am to
4.30 pm. Admission to the museum for the general public is
free, although there is a charge for education visits and special
events, see our School Resources
page for more details. As the museum is also used for educational activities, visitors may
find themselves sharing the space with a class. See our

Getting to the Museum
The Museum is based in the centre of the
University of Reading, Whiteknights campus, on the ground floor of the
Humanities and Social Sciences (HumSS) building, in the Department of
Classics, room 38. HumSS is shown on the map below.
Enter the University Campus off the A327 Shinfield Road, onto
Queens's Drive (the turning with the University Sports Centre on the

There is a Pay and
Display carpark (carpark 1A) for visitors nexts to
the Sports Park (Shinfield Road entrance). There is
no charge for the first two hours, although you must
still obtain and display a ticket in your car.
After this, there is a daily charge of £3.10. Please
be aware that the pay and display machines only
accept debit/credit cards.
