Accommodation
There are three types of accommodation available to
students at Reading:
-
A room in a University Hall of Residence
-
A room with a University-approved Host Family
-
A room in a private house, most often shared
with other students
Erasmus
and European Study Abroad students can only be allocated Hall rooms from the
Reading International Office quota, on a strictly first come-first
served basis.
Students must not approach Halls or the
Accommodation Office direct with queries about accommodation - please contact us
at
studyabroad@reading.ac.uk .
As demand always exceeds supply, we
cannot guarantee all students a room. Students Hall will be notified by letter
by the
Reading International Office before they leave home.
Priority
is given to those students who are staying for a full academic year and a £100
refundable deposit (also known as a Battels deposit) will be requested before arrival. Once your application form and learning agreement have been received you will be automatically placed on a
Hall waiting
NB - Students are not
permitted to live outside Reading without the prior consent of the
Study Abroad Manager.
