The Museum of English Rural Life is currently closed for work on our exciting redevelopment project, Our Country Lives, to take place.
The Museum will reopen to the public on 19th October, 2016, with nine redisplayed galleries, inlcuding one new gallery purpose-built to house our very special Festival of Britain wall-hanging. There will also be a new social learning space, developed in partnership with students from the University of Reading, open access collections area, enlarged education studio, shop and reception area; and new features in the garden including a shepherd’s hut and community growing spaces.
We look forward to welcoming you to the new Museum soon. In the meantime, follow the run-up to relaunch on our blog and social media! #TheMERLiscoming
