Using the Collections

Everyone is welcome to explore and access our collections and we offer lots of different ways to do this.

You can explore a growing selection of items from the collection online and you can also browse your way through lists of the collections we hold.

Detailed searches can be made using our online databases.

If you are able to visit us, you will find much more than just the galleries. Our reading room  is open to all and there are thousands of books and journals that you can browse. Feel free to drop in (you'll need some ID for your first visit). If you want to see archives, photographs, specific books or museum objects then we recommend that you contact us in advance of your visit. This is so that we can arrange for items to come from the stores.

Unable to visit? Unsure what to do? Drop us a line at merl@reading.ac.uk - our collection enquiry service operates 5 days a week.
