BSc Rural Property Management
Every day we are influenced by the built environment around us. Offices, shops, industrial buildings, houses and the surrounding countryside all have an impact on the quality of our lives. Have you ever wondered how those properties were developed, who was responsible for managing them or how much they were worth? Our courses provide you with the opportunity to consider these questions and others so that you will be equipped to manage and influence the future environment.
Our Rural Property Management degree is one of the few programmes available in the UK which recognise the diverse skills and knowledge required by rural surveyors and property advisors. The programme acknowledges the growing importance of proactive management of the rural estate in order to meet the expectations of owners and to maximise the potential of their assets. If you are interested in managing rural property, working with or on behalf of owners and occupiers of rural property, then this is the degree programme for you. It develops your understanding of real estate from a rural perspective, applying the skills and knowledge attained in Year 1 and 2 to the specifics of rural land management.
You will develop areas of expertise which would enable you to work not only in the rural surveying profession, but also in the wider business, environmental and support sectors in the countryside.
This programme builds on the BSc Real Estate programme with foundation studies (the first two years) being shared. In the final year your modules are focussed on rural property but, like all of our degrees, address both the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject. In the final year, and drawing on our close links with the profession and local estates, you will undertake a number of applied rural property and business projects to develop analytical and employment skills.
