BA Graphic Communication

Learn to think creatively and to express your design ideas with confidence. Our course equips you for a career in design by combining a strong practical base with an understanding of what makes good design succeed.

In the first year we introduce you to practical design projects and the history and theory of design and also provide direction in the use of relevant digital technology. In the second year you engage with more practical design, both project work and professional practice, supported by teaching of theory and history. In the final year your practical skills are further developed and you specialise through your choice of dissertation topic, options, and self-directed project. Practical project briefs and professional assignments investigate a wide variety of design problems- our students design books, catalogues, posters, banknotes, signage, CDs, exhibitions, websites, interfaces for mobile phones and other hand-held devices, and much more.
